eShare launches eBible the online Trustee Bible for key documents.
eShare, the UK's leading pensions governance system provider has launched an off the shelf online Trustee Bible. eBible ensures that Trustees meet the requirements of new legislation to be familiar with key information regarding their pension scheme.
eShare have been working with some of the largest UK pension schemes for some time now to develop bespoke pensions governance systems to meet a broad range of requirements from controlling Trustee decision making to managing meetings and simply sharing scheme information.
"At our pension governance seminar in January it was clear that we needed to start to give Trustees better tools to perform their roles effectively." says Alister Esam, Managing Director of eShare, "In addition, the tools needed to be provided in a cost effective manner so that they are accessible to all pension schemes regardless of budget; not just the largest schemes."
eBible is the first of a range of products to be launched which can all integrate into the more comprehensive eShare governance system. eBible provides a secure online bible for Trustees to access and become familiar with key documentation. Underlying eBible is eShare's full document management capability. The system can be managed by a pensions manager using a web based interface and Trustees simply log in to view documentation and other online resources.
Trustees are alerted to new information that they would like to be informed about on a daily or weekly basis according to criteria they can define.
Statistics can be obtained regarding usage to enable schemes to demonstrate that their Trustees are accessing and using the bible.
If required eBible can be expanded into the broader eShare governance system at a later date to meet the much broader governance needs of pension schemes.
"Regulation dictates that Trustees must be familiar with scheme documentation, eBible ensures that for a fraction of the cost of a full governance system not only can they be familiar with information but they can demonstrate that is the case." says Esam, "Furthermore it uses the full functionality of the eShare governance system to support schemes if they wish to grow their electronic governance framework."
