eShare to Define Governance Software

eShare are undertaking the ambitious task of defining what Governance Software is and what it needs to be to meet the challenges facing pension schemes today.

In these ever more complex times, many schemes are now using or looking at using Governance Software to help improve trustee effectiveness and make life easier for the pensions department and advisers to perform their roles.

The phrase Governance Software is often used to describe anything from a simple searchable knowledge base through to workflow driven tools that actually act like another member of the governance team.

In some instances people are under the impression that the solution is another system to maintain and therefore an additional workload; others believe Governance Software is the saviour to keeping on top of the ever increasing governance workload.

“It was inevitable that technology would play an increasingly important role in raising standards of pensions governance,” said eShare Managing Director Alister Esam.  “We want to help schemes put in place solutions that do more than simply provide a knowledge base but actually act like another member of the team.”

“There seems to be some confusion throughout the industry over what Governance Software can do,” said Esam.  “At eShare we have therefore taken the initiative to define what Governance Software actually is and what it is capable of.”

eShare have devised a survey to gauge industry opinion and help produce a definition of what Governance Software actually is.  As an added bonus, respondents will be entered into a prize draw to win an iPod Touch as a way to say thank-you for participating.

“Governance Software already does wonders to help schemes manage their workload such as managing risks, managing adviser appointments, and providing a real time view of the status of all governance activities.” said Esam.  “Our survey is designed to gauge awareness of the potential of the software and initiate a debate into how technology can help us be better at governance.”

The survey can be completed on eShare’s website: www.eShareUK.com
