Hello,

Welcome to the autumn edition of our governance newsletter.

Since our last issue, we are proud to announce that their system has been awarded the Microsoft "Software as a Service" competency.

"eShare is one of the first globally to be awarded this after undertaking the new 'software as a service' platform test, built specifically for hosted providers," said Richard Markiewicz, eShare's Chief Technical Officer

Also in this issue......

  • TPR joins the eShare Forum
  • eMeetings in Practice
  • Internal Controls is coming....

On the 10th October, Pensions Managers gathered together to challenge The Regulator, following the publication of their governance survey last month.

Justin Wray from The Pensions Regulator joined the eShare forum to discuss issues including:
  • Scheme Transparency and Communications
  • Internal Controls and Risk Management
  • Conflicts of Interest
"The eShare forum was a well-run and useful event," says Justin, "It provided the Regulator with a valuable insight into the governance issues faced by schemes."

To read the questions the Regulator faced and his responses, please follow the link below.

The next forum is scheduled for the 8th December. If you are interested in becoming a member of the eShare Governance Forum please e- mail Info@eShareUK.com

"The Mineworkers' Pension Scheme and the British Coal Staff Superannuation Pension Scheme have implemented the eShare Governance System. eShare is giving Trustees the tools to manage knowledge and share information. Of particular benefit has been eMeetings, which has revolutionised the way meetings are managed."

If you want to read the full case study please follow the link below.

Alternatively, you can visit our website at www.eShareUK.com to see how eMeetings can help your scheme.

The Regulators code of practice on Internal Controls will be finalised on the 22nd November. The code will cover trustees duties on how they can establish and implement adequate internal controls, as well as giving guidance on how to develop a risk management framework. eShare has developed eControls to help schemes in implementing the new code.

To read the consultation document please follow the link below. We shall publish the full code on Internal Controls in our next edition.

In our next newsletter, we will be issuing a demonstration of eControls, but if you would like to talk to us sooner about how eControls can help your scheme please call 0845 200 7829, or e-mail Alice.Cambata@eShareUK.com

On 31st October, eShare will be joining the NAPF Autumn Trustee Conference to discuss how implementing eShare can benefit any pension scheme. We will also be giving delegates the chance to win a Tom Tom GPS in-car navigation system, so we hope to see you there.

If you would like to know more about eShare, our Governance System, or other related activities, please visit www.eShareUK.com, or call us on 0845 200 7829

Sincerely,
